Consult Trustees Appointed

Consult has appointed a Board of Trustees to provide overview, scrutiny and security to its activity. The Chairman of Consult will report directly into the Board of Trustees and be accountable to them.

The Trustees will regularly meet with the Chairman to discuss the key activity of the think tank, including its projects and articles, its engaging of the community by its talking to new groups of people including schools and youth groups, as well as its future planning regarding communications, events and conferences.

The Trustees will discuss and be required to give approval to the Chairman on all potential appointments, and will be entirely responsible for the conducting of the recruitment and selection process for future Chairman appointments.

Graham Damiral leaves his post as Vice Chairman of Consult to become the new Head of the Trustees. Ali Berridge joins Graham on the Board, and so leaves her post as Projects Officer. Prospective Parliamentary Candidate and Member of the Heseltine Taskforce Policy Review Group Christian Holliday has also been appointed to the Board of Trustees.

Commenting on this development, Consult Chairman Matthew Page said "The board of trustees secures Consults legacy for years to come. By having professional accountability, scrutiny and overview, all of Consults activity will have to demonstrate continuing serious credibility through the work of the Chairman and their respective management team.

This can only enable us in our future mission to both engage with new groups of people and the wider community, as well as ensure that younger people have the platform to put across their views and make a serious impact upon policy development."

News on the new Consult Vice Chairman and Projects Officer will follow shortly.
