Consult to Feed into CSJ Review |

Consult Chairman Matthew Page and Director of Centre for Social Justice Philippa Stroud recently met up to discuss how both of our respective research could be better integrated to aid the future policy direction of the Conservative Party. In advocating the role of younger people in policy development, much of Consults research has centred around examining the causes of particular problems affecting society in then looking to put forward solutions. These include the importance of running an effective public transport system in making longer licensing hours work and tackling ineffective discipline in our poorest schools so the best teachers can be recruited and retained. The Centre for Social Justice set up by former Party Leader The Rt. Hon Iain Duncan Smith has led a critical part of the current Conservative Policy Review by both examining the critical causes of social breakdown in our society and then putting forward policies that can make a real difference. As well as there being clear overlap between the mission of the two think-tanks, Philippa has also volunteered to work closely with the Consult team in helping feed our evolving policy ideas into the policy review process. Consult Chairman Matthew Page commented "As well as being able to feed into the many different aspects of CSJ research, the opportunity to learn from such an influential body can only be of enormous value to Consult. We all look forward to working with Iain and Philippa in the future in developing this relationship further." |
