Consult is delighted to announce that it will be holding its inaugural conference in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in spring 2008. In advocating the role of younger people in policy development, Consult looks to talk to new groups of people who may be currently disconnected from the political process. By taking the policy out of politics, the aim of this conference is to engage with new elements of the north east community in strengthening our relationship with this most important of areas. Delegates including younger people from around the north-east will be invited to come along and put forward their own views and opinions on key issues including 'How much Tax should I Pay?', 'Extended Licensing; Good thing or Bad?' and 'Is my Public Transport system good enough?' Seminar and break out groups will be led to facilitate discussion and allow views to be fed back to the delegates during the day. These seminars will be complimented by key note speeches form leading north-east figures, which will focus on the future role for younger people to get involved in policy development and the opportunities that will be open to them. For further information on this conference please contact Bethany Lightley. |
