Prominent MPs including Sir Malcolm
Rifkind and Damian Green have officially endorsed Consult's remit of
advocating the role of younger people in policy development and engaging
the next generation of Conservative voters.
Damian Green commented that “Consult had a vital role to play in
engaging young people with public policy formation in areas which matter
most to them. This kind of initiative is vital to the future health of
democratic institutions in Britain, as they must remain relevant to
every new generation.”
Sir Malcolm Rifkind praised Consult for both its remit and approach.
“Consult is a splendid and imaginative initiative. It is part of the
renaissance of the Conservative Party and will be attractive to those
who want to play an important part in building a better country and
safer world.”
Consult Chairman Matthew Page said "It is a huge privilege to receive
official backing from such prominent figures as Damian Green and Sir
Malcolm Rifkind. Crucially they have endorsed not only our remit of
involving more younger people in policy development, but have supported
our informal yet structured approach as critical to attracting more
people into politics.
This not only gives terrific momentum to our ever growing activity, but
also significantly supports our building of fruitful relationships with
other organisations including Universities and Schools.”
