Matthew Page sets out his vision of where the
Conservative Party should go next

Time for the Conservative Party to challenge Equality and champion the Classless Society

Chief to the Conservative Party’s Recovery will be its return to representing a vision and not an issue Party, argues Matthew Page, Chairman Consults

Consult Chairman Matthew Page has written an article outlining where the Conservative Party needs to go in order for them to return to government.

Matthew has argued that the Party needs to return to being a Vision Party rather than merely representing issues, and that it needs to reach far and wide whilst also remaining practical and credible in being able to explain where it wants to go and how it will get there.

In being bold and radical, the three main challenges that need to be tackled include challenging equality where the poorest people in inner city communities and society are left at the bottom without the opportunities to break free and get to the top. Secondly, we need to champion that the best values of compassion, enterprise and wanting to better ourselves all come from within us and not from autocratic governments.

Lastly, the Party needs to demonstrate how it will give the most radical opportunities to those at the bottom of society to break free and enjoy real equality of opportunity. This includes allowing children in the poorest communities to have the best quality of education and families to enjoy good access to efficient healthcare.

The above is all part of creating the classless society where everyone is judged on what they do and not their class, background or social upbringing. This agenda will reflect a compassionate, outward looking Conservative party which not only reflects the ambitious thinking of 21st Century Britain, but also being a party for all with a positive message for everyone.
